Vehicle Naming Competition - the winners
As part of our 50th birthday celebrations, a competition was set up for primary schools in the district to name five recycling collection vehicles and five road sweepers. Braintree District Council staff attended each school, along with the named vehicles, to congratulate the schools and provide an assembly on food waste and climate change. The children were invited outside to see the vehicles for themselves and had an opportunity to have photographs taken with them.
The winning schools and their vehicles were:
- Great Bradfords, Infants - Greedy Garbage Gobbler and Sweeper Keeper
- Great Bradfords, Juniors - Recycling Rocket and Sir Sweep-a-lot
- Cressing Primary School - Mr Collect It Up and The Walrus
- St Michaels CofE Primary School - Reuser Cruiser and Lightning McClean
- Notley Green Primary School - Lulu and Bowie
Well done to everyone involved for coming up with such original names. Don’t forget to look out for them around the district as they carry out their vital work keeping the district clean and tidy!
