Braintree District Council and the Active Braintree Foundation are pleased to launch the Braintree District Volunteer and Active Braintree Awards 2026.
These awards bring together recognition for volunteering, sport and physical activity, and health and wellbeing. They celebrate individuals and groups who generously give their time to make our communities better, healthier places to live, work, and play, as well as recognising the achievements of local athletes, clubs, and coaches.
Nominations are welcomed from all sectors, including arts, sports, community, and culture.

- Nomination deadline: Friday 4 September 2026 at 5:00pm
- Shortlisted nominees notified: Week commencing 21 September 2026
- Awards Ceremony: Wednesday 21 October 2026, evening
Shortlisted nominees will be invited to attend the ceremony. Please ensure your nominee is available on this date.
The top three shortlisted nominees in each of the five sport and physical activity categories will automatically be considered (subject to eligibility) for the Active Essex Sports Awards in December 2026.
