About the grant
This is an additional discretionary relief that Local Authorities can give businesses that have suffered hardship due to Covid-19.
The fund will be available to support business ratepayers affected by the pandemic, but that are ineligible for existing support linked to business rates.
The relief is available to reduce chargeable amounts in respect of 2021/22.

You should read this guidance to establish whether your business is eligible.
Exclusions
Businesses eligible or in receipt of existing support linked to business rates are excluded from this scheme. In accordance with the guidance, the relief will NOT be available to:
1. Ratepayers who either are or would have been eligible for the:
- Extended Retail Discount (covering Retail, Hospitality and Leisure) or
- Nursery Discount or
- Airport Ground Operations Support Scheme
2. Businesses that are in receipt of 100% Small Business Rate Relief or 100% Rural Rate Relief or 100% Mandatory Relief
3. Property which is unoccupied (other than hereditaments which were closed temporarily due to the government’s advice on COVID-19).
4. Businesses that have exceeded Subsidy Control limits
5. Businesses that are in administration or insolvent
Eligible businesses
Businesses must pay business rates on premises to be eligible.

We are inviting applications from businesses that may be eligible for the Covid-19 Additional Relief.
