Sauls Bridge Sports Ground table tennis consultation

Braintree District Council has received funding from a recent housing development through a Section 106 agreement. The funding must be used to improve sports facilities at Sauls Bridge Sports Ground.

The agreement includes funding for table tennis facilities. We are proposing to install outdoor table tennis tables and smart lockers to store bats and balls.

We want to hear from people who use the park, local residents and other interested groups. Tell us:

The closing date for survey responses is 5pm, Friday 16 October. 

We will publish a summary of the consultation results once the survey has closed.

  • Why is the Council spending money on table tennis tables instead of other services?

    The table tennis tables are not funded through council tax.

    The money comes from a developer contribution that was agreed as part of the planning process. This is known as a Section 106 agreement.

    The agreement sets out how the money must be spent. If it is not used for the agreed improvements, it must be returned to the developer.
