How does collective energy switching work?
1. Registration | 2. Auction | 3. Personal offer | 4. You decide | 5. Take control |
---|---|---|---|---|
Registration is quick, free and there is no obligation to switch to the winning supplier. | During the auction, suppliers compete to provide the best deal. The supplier who offered the cheapest tariff will get to offer you a new contract. | Once the auction has taken place you will receive your personal offer and you can see how much money you can save. | You will have approximately 4 weeks to decide if you would like to switch and if you do, iChoosr will take care of the entire switching process. | You will be one of the thousands who have taken control of their energy costs through our collective energy switching scheme. |
Who can participate?
The scheme is delivered by the Council and iChoosr, an independent specialist provider in collective energy switching. There have previously been 3 auctions held a year however, due to the volatility in the global energy market over the past few years, the auctions have been held less frequently, with the last auction held in January 2024. Registrations need be made on-line, therefore you must have an email address in order to participate. Multiple registrations can be made using one email address. Registration requires the account holders name, address, contact details, energy provider, tariff name, tariff end date (if applicable) and the energy consumption (kWh) total yearly figure.
Autumn Auction Update
The auction winner was British Gas and offers are currently being sent out to residents who have registered for the scheme. If you have not received your offer yet, please contact iChoosr directly. Unfortunately offers are not available for residents who have a pre-payment meter or who use paper billing.
