Braintree District Council sweeps the board at Essex Playing Field Awards once again

Braintree District Council received 39 awards for its quality of the district’s parks and green spaces at this year’s Essex Playing Field Association Awards.

The awards were held at Essex Police Sports Association in Chelmsford on Thursday 24th October, with the Council walking away with fourteen gold awards including runner up for Witham Town Park (Class 5 category), ten silver and fifteen certificates of merit. This achievement recognises the staff’s efforts and hard work in maintaining to a high standard the playing fields across the District.

Councillor Angela Kilmartin, Chairman of Braintree District Council, said: “I was more than pleased to represent Braintree District Council at the awards and to see the standard and quality of our open spaces being recognised by the Essex Playing Fields Association.”
