"This is a significant investment from a world leading technology business which will give residents access to skilled jobs and opportunities for many years to come.”

Essex X-Ray is the second employer to sign up to Horizon 120 – the business and innovation park being built just off the A131 in Great Notley.

The Marshgate Group, the selected commercial developer for Horizon 120, completed contracts with Essex X-Ray on Friday, 20th November as the company announced it had been looking for a new strategic location to expand its business.

Essex X-Ray is moving from its current location in Great Dunmow to a much larger and more modern commercial unit. The new 33,000 sq ft building, positioned on a 2.1 acre plot, will be home to offices and a high-tech manufacturing facility.

Essex X-Ray is a world leader in the design and manufacture of high voltage technology and is active in over 40 countries. The company designs engineering solutions for the aerospace, automotive and medical industries amongst others.

55 people will transfer to the new site when it opens. The company is expected to create a further 30 jobs over 5 years.

The new manufacturing facility will be part of a business park which offers high quality office, distribution and manufacturing spaces. A central hub area to the north will be home to a new enterprise centre with café or restaurant which will add to the experience of employees working on the site.

The Marshgate Group, the selected developer for all the commercial units, is continuing to work with interested businesses on designs and layouts for new facilities.

Building work is scheduled to start early next year with completion expected by the end of 2021.
