Located in the heart of Braintree, Essex, the Warner Textile Archive is Britain’s second largest collection of flat textiles, spanning over two centuries of creativity and commerce.

The diverse collection chronicles the rise of a great British industry –  from nineteenth century elegance to twentieth century flair.

Opening times and admission fee

  • Adult Admission: £4        
  • Concessions: £2      
  • Children free

We welcome visitors to the Archive’s Gallery with no appointment necessary, at any time during the opening hours above.

We have a small parking area at the front of the Archive which can accommodate several cars or a coach. The nearest train station is Braintree Town, a 5 minute walk away.

Pre-booked group visits

Pre-booked visits are welcomed, which include an introductory talk and (if requested) a tour of the Archive Store. Refreshments can also be provided. Please contact Warner textile archive to book your visit.
