Volunteering opportunities

Volunteer Drivers

Do you enjoy helping others and have a few hours to spare?  Would you like to put something back into your Community?  We are in need of volunteers to drive for us, either in your own car or one of our 12 seater minibuses.

If you are patient and have a willingness to help this rewarding and worthwhile job could be for you - taking elderly, disabled and vulnerable people shopping, to appointments. social events, day trips etc.

Mileage reimbursement is payable at 45p per mile without any tax liabilities, as long as you inform your insurance company, extra cover is not needed - benefits are not affected as reimbursement is on a not-for-profit basis and does not affect your availability for paid employment.

Landscape services volunteers

The Landscape Services Team, are always looking for willing volunteers to help with activities such as tree planting, meadow cutting, building otter holts and creating paths.  Much of the work we carry out would be impossible without the continued and valued input of volunteers.

Volunteering provides numerous benefits.  Aside from helping improve opportunities for wildlife and access in the countryside, you can also gain a great deal of experience and skills that transfer into the workplace, meet new people, gain confidence, keep fit and active and stand  a better chance of seeing the local wildlife and countryside.

We are also looking for volunteers to join our Tree Warden Scheme throughout the Braintree District.
