Allotments and fees
Braintree District Council runs 11 allotment sites within the district with over 290 plots in active cultivation.
To find out the allotment locations please view the Council's Allotment locations online directory.
At the present time all the Council's sites have waiting lists with approximate waiting times between 1 to 2 years - although this varies from site to site, as some sites will have tenants for all plots.
Please fill in the Allotment waiting list form if you would like to be added to the waiting list, if you wish to be removed from any waiting list please email email@example.com, once a plot becomes available and you are next in line you will be contact via email or letter and given two chances to respond before we offer the plot to the next on the waiting list.
Braintree District Council's rules for having an allotment are found in the Tenancy Agreement which is issued at the start of the tenancy. If you wish to erect a structure or a shed onto your allotment plot, please email in your plot details and information about the structure including sizes, and we will respond with an approval.
We aim to inspect the allotment sites twice a year to assess if they are being used correctly and will issue letters and warnings if plots are un-tidy or un-cultivated.
If you have any allotment enquiries please contact the Parks Team on 01376 332326 or email firstname.lastname@example.org
