Anomalies in specific locations

There are a couple of points where minor anomalies have occurred in the definition of locations and this have been largely due to the Census information available.

The explanation for this from Census 2011 is that: "five parishes in the District were below the population size threshold for release of Census statistics, because of restrictions placed to protect confidentiality.

"These parishes were aggregated together with adjacent parishes; as a result the parish data given in the 2011 for the neighbouring parish is also affected, meaning that Census data is not available at parish level for 10 parishes in Braintree District.  The parishes below the Census size threshold are Borley (which is included with Belchamp Walter); Faulkbourne (which is included with Fairstead); Liston (which is included with Foxearth); Little Henny (which is included with Great Henny); and Ovington (which is included with Tilbury Juxta Clare)."

The impact that this Census Data 2011 has on the Housing StatNav locations is as follows:

Borley has been combined with Belchamp Walter for the Census 2011 Data and we have decided to do the same as a Parish Cluster.

White Notley and Faulkbourne location does not have Census 2011 Data for Faulkbourne included as this has been combined with Fairstead. But all other data includes White Notley and Faulkbourne combined.

Terling and Fairstead location includes Faulkbourne in the Census 2011 Data. But in all other data sets Faulkbourne is not included.

Great Henny, Little Henny, Ovington & Tilbury Juxta Clare are combined as one location in the Housing StatNav anyway – so this is not affected.

Foxearth and Liston are combined as one location in the Housing StatNav anyway – so this is not affected.

Braintree & Bocking - The final anomaly of Census data 2011 data is that, whilst there are direct ‘output areas’ produced for all these parishes, Braintree District, Witham and Halstead - there is no output area for Braintree town or Braintree & Bocking as it is defined in the Housing StatNav.

Braintree & Bocking Census 2011 data has been collected by a sum of all Braintree & Bocking Wards and then the removal of Great Notley Parish’s total figures from Braintree West Ward.
