Brief overview of the town

Witham is the second largest market town in the Braintree District (of the three towns, Braintree, Witham and Halstead) and is just over half the population size of Braintree. Witham is located at the south of the District adjacent to the A12 and on the main London to Norwich railway line and there are significant levels of commuting from the town particularly to London and Chelmsford.

The population of Witham is 25,353 (Census 2011).
