Ramsey Road Recreation Ground Consultation

Aim of consultation

The consultation was undertaken to:

  • To identify the features of the recreation ground that are currently working well
  • To identify any areas of the recreation ground that currently need improvement
  • To identify key areas for improvement to help guide the priorities for the funding spend
  • To refine the Councils approach to improving the recreation ground by listening to the public, recording their comments and referring to them to guide the next stage of consultation, the concept design
  • To ensure that the Council has an accurate reading of public opinion so that it provides the most effective services to the public in relation to Ramsey Road Recreation Ground

Consultation process

The consultation ran from 11 July 2019 until 27 September 2019 with the intention of giving everyone who uses the recreation ground or lives in the surrounding area an opportunity to give their thoughts and opinions on the requirements for the park. The below list represents the components of the process:

How could people find the questionnaire give their feedback

  • A dedicated page on the Braintree District Council webpage 11 July 2019 – 27 September 2019
  • An online questionnaire on the Council webpage
  • An A4 letter with details of the questionnaire website, phone numbers and address details of the BDC contact to request a paper version of the survey, sent to over 2,500 addresses surrounding the recreation ground. Including those properties immediately backing onto the park
  • Emails sent to local community groups providing details of the consultation and the link to the website
  • An A4 letter with details of the questionnaire website, phone numbers and address details of the BDC contact to request a paper version of the survey, printed with enough copies for all students provided to Holy Trinity Church of England Primary School
  • Details of the consultation and link to the website sent to Richard De Clare Community Academy and sent to all parents via the school e-newsletter
  • Details of the consultation and link to the website sent to The Ramsey Academy and sent to all students via the school e-newsletter
  • Request to Halstead Town Council to promote
  • Details of the consultation and link to the website sent to Halstead Library
  • Project advertised in Contact Magazine sent out to all residents
  • Consultation advertised in the Council pages of the Braintree and Witham Times

The consultation formally closed to responses on the 27 September 2019, allowing the feedback to be analysed and this report of the findings to be produced.
