The Coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak presents a significant challenge to businesses around the globe.

High Street Grant

Applications for this scheme are now open and will close at 5pm on Monday 17 January 2022.

The aim of the scheme is to improve the look and feel of the shopfronts on our high streets to:

  • create an inviting shopping environment for residents and visitors; and
  • support the growth of local businesses

We will commission and pay, up to the value of £1,000, for a tradesperson to work on improving the external appearance of shopfronts.

Omicron Leisure and Hospitality Grant Scheme

The Omicron Leisure and Hospitality grant scheme provides support to businesses that are experiencing difficulties because of the Omicron variant, and the dual impact of staff absences and lower consumer demand.

Businesses in the hospitality and leisure sectors are eligible for one-off grants of up to £6,000 per premises.

To qualify for this grant, your business occupies property on which it pays business rates.

Additional Restrictions Grant

The Additional Restrictions Grant scheme is to support businesses outside the business rates system experiencing difficulties because of the Omicron variant.

The amount awarded will be a one-off amount of £1,500.

As funds are limited, the scheme will support these specific sectors:

  • businesses which supply the hospitality, events, leisure and travel sectors, including sole traders and businesses based at home

Applications for the additional restrictions grant are now closed

COVID-19 Additional Relief Fund

An additional business rates support package, worth £2.9 million will be available to support businesses affected by COVID-19, but not eligible for existing support linked to business rates.

The relief is for businesses who have been adversely affected financially as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic. Financial impact can include:

  • a loss in income due to restrictions placed on your business sector OR
  • significantly increased operating costs due to the impact of Covid-19

More information on this scheme will be made available within the next two weeks.
