Braintree Community Transport has six fully accessible minibuses which will transport 12 seated passengers. There are removable seats to accommodate up to 2 wheelchairs per minibus.

The operating conditions are as follows:

Any voluntary group who want to hire a minibus must register with Braintree Community Transport and pay a £20 yearly registration fee.

Hire cost is £1.00 per mile up to 100 miles. For journeys over 100 miles the cost is 70p per mile plus £30.00. There is a minimum charge of £20.00. These rates include the fuel costs.

Braintree Community Transport can provide volunteer drivers subject to availability. Groups may provide their own drivers, but all drivers must be registered with Braintree Community Transport and have completed the MiDAS (Minibus Driver Awareness Scheme) course or be willing to undertake the necessary training which is provided by the scheme free of charge.

Vehicles will be available on a first come first served basis. Block bookings can be arranged depending on availability.
