How Much Information is Available Online?
The Local Planning Authority has only recently installed a
document imaging and records management system. As such there
is only a limited amount of information available to view on this
website. The Local Planning Authority is committed to
increasing the amount of scanned documentation online in the
future. However, the following information is currently
available online: -
<> All planning submissions received during
2006 have been scanned, which include the relevant planning
application forms, plans, drawings and any other supporting
information submitted with the application.
<> Decision Notices will be published on the
website as soon as a decision has been made on all 2006 planning
applications. Additionally, Decision Notices back to
1997 are also available online.
<> From July 2006 all planning related
correspondence will be scanned on a daily basis and available to
view online with the exception of letters of representation.
<> Due to the concerns in respect of identity
fraud the Local Planning Authority has taken the decision not to
publish letters of representation on the website. This is to
protect people’s signatures, telephone numbers and other personal
information that is usually contained within letters of
representation. However, letters of representation will still
be made available to members of the public at the Council’s main
offices at Causeway House in Braintree.
NB. Please ring and give 48 hours notice of your request
stating the Application No. and/or the Site Location
(address). This will allow for the papers to made
available in our Main Reception Area on your visit.
How to Search for a Planning Application?
It is possible to search by Street Name, Application Number,
Date Range and Postcode. The easiest way to search for a
specific planning application is by Application Number. This
number is located on the top left hand corner of neighbour
notification letters and/or on the planning site notice.
Conditions of Use

replace the Council’s statutory register of planning
applications. Current planning applications and documents are
