the following ways: -
Online
It is now possible to view planning applications and related
documentation and submit comments
online. You can also view general correspondence
and consultation responses. Letters of representation,
however, are not published on the website due to concerns in
respect of identity fraud. Although Braintree District
Council will continue to review this in light of any changes.
Council Offices
The register copy of applications can be viewed during office
hours at Causeway House. The register copy contains all of
the documentation submitted with the planning application, but
not any letters of representation, consultation
responses or other correspondence received during the lifetime of
the application. Simply speak to one of our customer service
advisors at the planning desk at front reception at Causeway House
and request to see the plans for a specific site although please
remember to make a note of the planning reference number so that we
can make the information available to you promptly. This can
be found at the top of a letter that has been sent to you, or on
the planning site notice.
It is possible to view a current or historic planning file,
which includes all of the letters of representation and all other
correspondence. However, you need to make a formal request to
the planning department and give 48 hours prior notification and/or
arrange a mutually convenient time with the planning case officer
to view the file. This is due to the fact that the file may
be in use by the planning officer or another department.
Please
contact
the planning department if you wish to view a specific planning
application file.
Area Offices
Planning applications are also available to view at the
Halstead
or
Witham
Area Office (for applications received within these areas) until
the publicity period for the application has expired.
