Planning Officers within Development Control are based in three area planning teams, organised around the three main towns within the Braintree District: Braintree, Halstead and Witham.

In the vast majority of cases, planning officers only deal with planning applications received within their respective area.  However, in some cases, perhaps because of a historical involvement with a particular site, or due to the nature of the application, a planning officer may deal with a specific planning application for another area team.

Development Control also employees a number of external planning consultants to deal with specific planning applications.
