As of 13 February 2006, requests from an agent or applicant to
change the proposed development by submitting revised plans and/or
additional information, will no longer be accepted by Braintree
District Council. The revised plans and/or additional
information will instead be returned to the applicant or agent.
If a revision to the proposed design/layout or additional
information is required, the application should be withdrawn and
resubmitted with the revised plans and/or additional
information.
No additional planning fee would be required providing the
revised application would be the second application received; is
submitted within a year of the date of registration of the
withdrawn applicaion; and the character and description of the
proposal remain the same.
In some cases however, the Case Officer may request revised
plans by means of a letter or discussion. These will be accepted
and form part of the final decision plans.
This change highlights the importance of preliminary planning
discussions with a planning officer prior to the submission of an
application, to agree the proposed design and layout and amend it
at this stage, not during the life of an application.
These changes have had to be introduced to reflect current
practices in other local planning authorities and to improve
Development Control performance and meet Government targets.
