A Duty Planning Officer is available at the main front reception at Causeway House in Braintree, on a drop-in, first come first served basis, on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays between 9:30am and 1pm.

Please note that until further notice, due to staff shortages, there will be no Duty Planning Officer on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

You can contact the Duty Planning Officer to discuss general planning matters, advise whether planning permission is required for a proposal and guide you through the planning application process. However, the Duty Planner should not be used to discuss the merits of a specific proposal, enforcement inquiries or to discuss the progress of a planning application. Please discuss these inquiries at the Area Surgery, with the Enforcement Team or with the Case Officer respectively.
