Council approves land offer to Network Rail
Braintree District Council has paved the way for plans for a
footbridge to be built over the main London to Norwich railway line
in Witham to proceed after Cabinet approved the transfer of a
pocket of council-owned land to Network Rail.
11 tonnes of rubbish shifted during Powers Hall End Community
Clean-up
Greenfields Community Housing and Braintree District Council teamed
up on Wednesday 25th January 2011 to carry out a ‘winter blitz’ on
the Powers Hall End estate in Witham and get rid of rubbish and
unwanted goods. In total, over 11 tonnes of rubbish were
removed.

A Witham based, limited company has succeeded in its bid to take
over the running and management of Dengie Community Hall from
Braintree District Council.
Hard hitting messages for car litter offenders
Braintree District Council is to launch a major campaign against
car litter offenders. Hard hitting headlines such as ‘Don’t be a
tosser’ on bus stops, petrol stations and refuse vehicles aim to
grab the attention of passers by, highlighting that throwing litter
out of a vehicle is not socially acceptable and a criminal
offence.
Time to preserve Braintree town’s clock tower
Braintree District Council is leading on works to preserve the
clock tower of the Grade II listed Braintree Town Hall after a
recent survey revealed structural damage.
