The licensing section issues over 1,000 licences a year and aims to enable businesses and organisers to achieve their objectives, whilst ensuring the protection of Braintree's citizens.

If you have a comment, query, complaint or request for service to make, please contact the team. A service request can be a request for information, a complaint about a business, vehicle, person etc, a request for someone to carry out an investigation or similar.  We do not give out details about those who make requests for service without their permission, but we cannot deal with anonymous requests or complaints.

Licensing Committee

The Licensing Committee and its sub-committees hear matters relating to the Licensing Act 2003, the Gambling Act 2005 and matters pertinent to these regimes. The Regulatory Committee deals with matters involving other licensing regimes including taxi licensing, sex establishments and street trading.
