Street Party *

Street parties are an excellent way to bring a sense of community to your area.

You may wish to hold a street party with your neighbours just to get to know them better or to celebrate an event such as the Big Lunch, the Queens's Diamond Jubilee or the Olympics.

The Department of Communities and Local Government has produced a simple guide to help you plan and organise a street party, which can be found on the right hand side of this page. It includes an application form for you to fill in.

Please consider the following before submitting your application:

<> It is important all residents are consulted and the majority agree to the event. We suggest you prepare an invitation list, an example of which can be found on the right-hand side of this page, or an invitation letter asking neighbours to sign their agreement or non-agreement to the street party. Please submit a copy of your preferred option with your application.

<> Your local Neighbourhood Policing Team need to be aware the event is taking place.

<> It is recommended you hold your street party during daylight hours for safety reasons.

If you would like to hold a street party please complete the following:

<> Online Application Form

Ideally please allow a minimum of four weeks for us to process your application. There is no fee for this service.

However, if there is to be pay bar, or if an admission charge which covers the supply of alcoholic drinks and/or entertainment, or if the public or a section of the public may be admitted to the event, a  Temporary Event Notice will be required.

If there will be more than 500 people present at any time, you may need to apply for a   Premises Licence
