Street parties are an excellent way to bring a sense of
community to your area.
You may wish to hold a street party with your neighbours just to
get to know them better or to celebrate an event such as the Big
Lunch, the Queens's Diamond Jubilee or the Olympics.
The Department of Communities and Local Government has produced
a simple guide to help you plan and organise a street party, which
can be found on the right hand side of this page. It includes an
application form for you to fill in.
Please consider the following before submitting your
application:
<> It is important all residents are consulted and the
majority agree to the event. We suggest you prepare an invitation
list, an example of which can be found on the right-hand side of
this page, or an invitation letter asking neighbours to sign their
agreement or non-agreement to the street party. Please submit a
copy of your preferred option with your application.
<> Your local Neighbourhood Policing Team need to be aware
the event is taking place.
<> It is recommended you hold your street party during
daylight hours for safety reasons.

Ideally please allow a minimum of four weeks for us to process
your application. There is no fee for this service.
Additional Licences
For private parties, the new application form will cover the
whole application.
However, if there is to be pay bar, or if an admission charge
which covers the supply of alcoholic drinks and/or entertainment,
or if the public or a section of the public may be admitted to the
event,
a
Temporary Event Notice will be required.
If there will be more than 500 people present at any
time, you may need to apply for
a
Premises Licence.
