Walking for Wellbeing *

Who can take part?
Walking for Well Being is open for everyone, whatever your age or ability.

We have a large variety of free, pre planned walks and the programme includes 'shorter walks' for those who are just beginning to enjoy walking or prefer to take things that little bit slower. The programmes are available through the link on the right.

Are you interested in becoming a walk leader?
We are always looking to recruit new volunteer walk leaders.

To be a leader all that is required is a knowledge of your local area and finding a route that you would feel comfortable in guiding others.

Please contact - walking@braintree.gov.uk for further information.

What else do I need to know?
It is advisable to wear suitable footwear which will support your ankles when walking. It is also advisable to bring a drink of water with you on a warm day.

The potential benefits of walking far outweigh the risks but if you haven't participated in much exercise recently and are worried about your health, please make sure you check with your doctor before increasing your activity levels. You may wish to start with our Heart and Sole walking programme.

Young children are welcome on the walks accompanied by an adult.
