Walks *
What are the benefits of walking? Exercise in general can be of considerable benefit to everyone both physically and mentally and ought to be regarded as a necessary ingrediant in the daily life style of people of all ages.

Walking is an excellent activity as it develops stamina and can help reduce the risk of heart disease. Coronary Heart Disease (CHD) is the leading single cause of death for both men and women in England.

Walking is an ideal low impact form of exercise and regular walking can both help to reduce weight and maintain weight loss.

Walking is also an activity that can improve balance, co-ordination and joint flexibility in older people which can help to prevent falls.

Want to find out about Braintree District Council's own free walking programme, Walking for Wellbeing?

The shorter walk programme can be accessed through the Heart and Sole Walks

Similar walking groups exist in the Maldon and Chelmsford areas and a complete list of the walks during March can be found through the link.
