Hourly rates are based on hiring from 9am to 10pm Monday to
Thursday, 8am to 5pm Friday and 9am to 4pm on Saturday. Rates
for outside these hours including Sundays and Bank holidays are
quoted on request.

Council Chamber
The largest of our
function rooms; the Council Chamber’s magnificent oak panelling is
inlaid with the finest English Holly. Murals around the
ceiling were painted by the noted artist Maurice Grieffenhagen R.A.
and depict the history of the town of Braintree. Capable of
seating up to 75 people theatre style or 40 banquet style.
The Council Chamber can be used for a wide variety of purposes from
conferences and presentations.
The Chairmans Room
A warm atmospheric room panelled
in fine English Walnut. The blue and gold murals depict the
fours seasons and were prepared by Henry Rushby R.A. to harmonise
with the richness of the wood. The Chairmans Room is capable
of seating 16/18 comfortably around horseshoe shape tables to give
a more luxurious setting for presentations or meetings.
The Lounge
The Lounge has a less formal
setting although versatile, it is capable of hosting a wide range
of commercial activities. These range from market research
studies to audio-visual sales presentations and training days are
very popular. The Lounge is capable of seating up 40 people
theatre style.
South Committee Room
The English Pear of
the South Committee Room lends itself to the more formal setting
that may be required for your meeting. Because of the large
oak table this room is ideal for your luncheon meeting. Can
accommodate 12 seated.
North Committee Room
Panelled in
stunning Australian Been Tree Wood, the panelled room is
ideal for small meeting or interviews and has an intimate
feel. Seats up to eight round one table.
Courtauld Gallery
Situated on the ground floor the Courtauld Gallery suits the less
formal meeting and is very versatile, it’s ideal for presentations
and consultations. Can accommodate 40 seated theatre
style.
Courtauld Annexe
Situated adjacent to the
Coutauld Gallery, this room is suitable for small meetings and
conferences or as a break out room from the Gallery. Seats 6 to 8
people boardroom style.
