A big thank you to the 280 people who flocked through the doors of Braintree Town Hall to enjoy the venue’s first wedding fair on Saturday 14th April 2012.

And also many thanks to the great mix of local companies that showcased their wedding services from bridal and groom wear to florists, cake designers, cars, magicians and caterers.

Visitors to the fair were also able to meet the Braintree Town Hall’s team and Manager Geoff Fuller. Anita Emery, Wedding Coordinator at Braintree Town Hall, was on hand to advise prospective couples on their wedding plans.

A highlight of the day was the ‘Win a Free Wedding at the Town Hall’ competition - from 35 entries on the day the lucky couple who answered the question correctly and were the first to be selected from the prize draw were: Sarah Kendall (40) and Stephen Nelson (44) from Braintree.

Sarah said:” This is fantastic news, I am really shocked to have won. I now look forward to my wedding and start planning it properly. I can’t wait to get married at Braintree Town Hall in December next year, it is such a beautiful venue.”

Aurelia Moreaux, Braintree District Council who organised the event, said: “The day was  one to remember - we never expected such a high turnout, it’s been a true success. We just hope everyone who came not only liked our building but also the wares of the exhibitors. “
