What are the benefits of walking?
Exercise in general can be of considerable benefit to everyone both physically and mentally and should be regarded as a necessary ingredient in the daily life style of people of all ages.

Walking is an excellent activity as it develops stamina and can help reduce the risk of heart disease. Coronary Heart Disease (CHD) is the leading single cause of death for both men and women in England.

Walking is an ideal low impact form of exercise and regular walking can both help to reduce weight and maintain weight loss.

Walking is also an activity that can improve balance, co-ordination and joint flexibility in older people which can help to prevent falls.
