Marianne Straub: A Retrospective Exhibition 1934-1984
An illustrated companion to a 1984 exhibition of Marianne Straub’s 36-year textiles career. Straub was one of the few textile designers in 1930s Britain who had both aesthetic and practical design training, and she became known in the trade for her sophisticated use of yarn and colour. Marianne Straub set up her studio at Warners Ltd in 1950, retiring in 1970 to become an influential freelance designer.
