- Volunteer Drivers Wanted

Out Of Pocket Expenses Reimbursed

Are you over 25, have a few hours to spare and own your own car?  Would you like to put something back into your Community?  We are in need of volunteers to drive for us.

If you are patient and have a willingness to help this rewarding and worthwhile job could be for you - taking elderly, disabled and vulnerable people shopping, to appointments, social events, day trips etc.  Hours to suit.

Mileage reimbursement is payable at 40p per mile without any tax liabilities, as long as you inform your insurance company extra cover is not needed – benefits are not affected as reimbursement is on a not-for-profit basis and does not effect your availability for paid employment.

Also, we have 12 seater minibuses in need of volunteer drivers for day trips, lunch clubs, social events etc.

For an informal chat contact Tracey Corcoran on 01376-557896

- Walk Leaders

Are you interested in becoming a walk leader? We are always looking to recruit new leaders.

To be a leader all that is required is knowledge of your local area and finding a route that you would feel comfortable in guiding others.

"I became involved with Heart & Sole Walks when I took early retirement, thinking it would provide good exercise, a chance to do something for the community and add a structure to my day.  I now find it very rewarding as a volunteer helping people who may have medical problems and need exercise or those who just need to join a group for company, who enjoy walking but don't want to do it alone." Velma Mayhew, Heart & Sole Volunteer.
