In July 2008, the Council published its new Homelessness
Strategy for the District.
The strategy was developed following a thorough review of
homelessness in the district, which identified the key causes of
homelessness, those affected and the main areas of work to be
carried out.
The strategy sets out a five year action plan of how the
Council intends to address the issue of homelessness in the
district. The strategic action plan will be monitored by a
specially formed Homelessness Strategy Steering Group. The
strategic action plan will be updated annually and will include any
further targets/areas of work, as identified.
