Development of Shared Ownership & other Tenures *

Our policy states that of the affordable housing provision on each new development, 80% of the homes are to be for social rent and 20% intermediate tenures.

Intermediate tenure can be available in a number of forms which include rent and purchase options.

The three main schemes under the Governments HomeBuy initiative are:
-New Build HomeBuy
-HomeBuy Direct
-Rent to HomeBuy

You may be eligible for one of the above schemes if you are either a:
-first time buyer
-previous home owner who cannot now afford to buy without help (perhaps because you have broken up with your partner)
-housing association or council tenant
-'key worker' (a key public sector worker like a nurse or teacher)

Further details about the HomeBuy schemes and eligibility criteria can be found by following the link to the directgov website in the box in the top right hand corner of this page.
