Rough sleeping, often referred to as 'street homelessness'
refers to anybody with literally nowhere to stay and who is
sleeping on the streets or elsewhere outside and includes those
staying in a car or a tent. It does not include people who
are staying on a temporary basis with family or friends.
Our local information suggests that rough sleeping happens only
very occasionally in the Braintree District.
If you are sleeping rough please contact us for help ad advice
as soon as possible.
If you are aware of someone sleeping rough, please let us know,
we will try our best to make contact with them.
In very severe winter weather we will try to help people who are
sleeping rough to find shelter for the night.
