Housing Associations operating in the Braintree District

*

The aim of housing associations is to provide homes at reasonable rents for people who cannot afford to buy a property on the open market. A housing association MultipleAttachments1must be registered with the Housing Corporation in order to be eligible for funding.

Housing associations are a good example of co-operation between the public and private sectors because they make use of money from both. The Housing Corporation, a government agency, channels public funds towards housing associations and then carefully monitors the homes developed and how they are managed.

The Strategic Housing Section of the Council produces a comprehensive booklet, - Guide to Housing Associations Within the Braintree District (pdf file), which gives more detail about housing associations generally and specific information about those operating in the area.
