The three estate agents have offered to advertise properties
that are adapted or have the potential for easy adaptation.
If you are interested in purchasing a property that may be
suitable for someone with reduced mobility, please click on the
area of the district where you would like to live.
Please contact WitLet on 01376 502500 for further details.
What to look for
Disabled people all have different needs. Adaptations that may
suit one person could make life more difficult for the next one.
For example; ramps may be helpful for a wheelchair user but create
problems for someone who does not need to use a wheelchair but
cannot walk easily.
The three estate agents working with the partnership highlight
those properties that may suit some disabled people or may lend
themselves to later adaptation.
If you would like more information, please contact Braintree
District Council on 01376 552525 ext. 2210, or
e-mail your request.
If you would like an expert opinion on any of the houses
featured, you can contact a private occupational therapist - a
directory is held with each of the above estate agents and also
with Braintree District Council, Housing Research & Development
Service. A copy of this directory may be obtained by calling the
College of Occupational Therapists on 0207 450
2304.
