Helping to make people feel safe and well is a key ambition of the council. Although not directly responsible for the major health services, we are active partners in the health field. For example, one of the successes demonstrating our efforts in improving the health of people within our district include our active support of the set-up of the - Mid Essex Primary Care Trust

In addition to the partnership work described above we do have responsibilities for some key areas of public health, including inspections of food premises, food hygiene training, promotion of healthy living initiatives (eg, smoking cessation), and so on.

The National Health Service website is the official gateway to National Health Service organisations on the Internet.
