Increasing your own recycling and composting helps
carbon reduction
Braintree District residents have always been enthusiastic about
recycling and year on year our recycling rate
increases.
Our Recycling Rate target for 2010-11 is 53% and for 2011-12,
57%. With your help we can achieve this together.
Recycling helps our environment and we can all benefit from
doing our bit around the house, at work and during our leisure
time. The results of your efforts conserves natural
resources, saves energy and reduces greenhouse gas emissions - all
of which helps to protect our environment and combat climate
change. The amount we recycled in the UK last year saved the
same amount of carbon as taking 5 million cars off the road!
There are lots of ways you can reduce, reuse, recycle and
compost – so if you are Green Hearted and want our District to be
the Green Heart of Essex, take a look at the many, easy ways you
can participate and be proud to be part of it!
