Grass Cutting

How often does the council cut the grass?
We aim to cut the grass every 10 working days but this is dependant on weather conditions. When excessive rainfall occurs we are unable to cut without causing damage and this often puts the teams behind on their work. In these instances the target may not be achieved and it may take a little time to get back to normal.

Some wildlife and woodland and other naturalised areas of grass throughout the District, are only cut once or twice a year.

Essex County Council is responsible for cutting the grass on all verges adjoining the public highway on the main roads ("A" roads).  These areas are cut once or twice a year.

Do you collect grass cuttings after mowing?
No we allow them to naturally bio-degrade.

There is a tree in our street with an overhanging/broken branchCan you help?
We are able to deal with all work involving trees on public or council owned land.
