Sarah Brady *

[Part Time]

Area: Colne Valley

A former Leisure Centre and Health and Safety manager, Sarah has found her job can often verge on the bizarre.

"I was once patrolling a park in De Vere when I saw a three-piece suite right in the middle of it! It's amazing what people throw away. I was also on a joint patrol with Essex Police when we had high winds and there was a member of the public following us with a chainsaw ready to remove any trees in the road!"

As an original Parish Ranger, she loves being part of a new venture.

"I like the fact that this is a pilot scheme and something different."

Sarah enjoys being out in the fresh air meeting people and says she sees the Wardens as being "a link between kids and problems. Kids come to me now they know me - they tell me things which I can then sort out for them or tell the Police about."

She would like to be seen as a friendly, approachable person out on the streets and believes the service will become "a vital part of the working Council, villages and Community."

Outside of work Sarah continues to do consultancy work and teaches Health and Safety, First Aid and swimming. She loves arts and crafts and is kept busy by her active teenage son.
