Street Scene Community Champions - Take pride and make a difference

*

Our Community Champions could be anyone from your next door neighbour to a local group, school or organisation. They act as they Council's eyes and ears - calling, e-mailing or texting in any street issues they come across such as:

<> Potholes
<> Weeds
<> Dog fouling
<> Street lights out
<> Graffiti and vandalism
<> Overhanging trees/hedges
<> Flytipping and litter

These are volunteers of any age who care about the environment and want to help keep it clean, green and tidy. By agreeing to a code of conduct for themselves and working with the Council to look out for local eyesores they make a real difference in their local area.

A litter-free morning in Finchingfield

If you are a person who cares about the area you live in, and would be willing to take the time to do something about it, become a Champion. You will be given a pack containing everything you'll need to get involved - a copy of the Litter Code and Pledge, a pad and pen, on-the-go drinking mug, set of pre-paid postcards and access to a free phone number.

From then on it will be all down to you - you can ring, text, e-mail or send in one of your postcards whenever you spot something that shouldn't be there and you can also become a litter-buster by getting involved in community litter picks and other events.

If you would like to find out more or become a Champion, contact Mick Galley on 01376 552525.
