Recycling only
works if strong markets exist for the recovered materials.
Remade Essex was formed in 2000, with the support of all local
authorities in Essex, to create new markets and secondary uses for
recycled materials in the County.
The project aims
to:
- Help Essex
businesses exploit the opportunities arising from the increased
re-use of materials
- Encourage
capital investment in new reprocessing capacity in the County
- Develop new
added value markets for secondary materials in Essex
- Help to create
jobs by expanding the environmental technologies sector in
Essex
- Maximise
recycling rates in Essex
