Pest Control - IMPORTANT NOTICE

Following a review of budgets and service provision the Council has decided to introduce a charge for the treatment of rats, mice and bed bugs in domestic properties from 1st April 2009.
The cost for treatment of rats and mice has been set at £30, and for bedbugs and cockroaches at £50.

People receiving specific state benefits are eligible for a 50% reduction in these fees. Evidence of the receipt of such benefits will be required.

The charges are extremely competitive compared to other pest control operators.

Other pests such as fleas and wasps will continue to be treated at the same cost as last year i.e. £35 per treatment. For further information relating to these charges, please contact Mr. H. Bates, Environmental Health Manager on 01376 551414.

The Council can offer the provision of rodent and pest control treatments normally within 5 working days or as agreed with you. Below are the current charges for the treatments:

Charge per visit for the treatment of wasps nests carried out on domestic properties = £35

Charge per visit for the treatment of rodents carried out on domestic premises = £30

Charges for the treatment of bedbugs and cockroaches carried out on domestic properties = £50

Charge per visit for the treatment of fleas, ants and other household pests carried out on domestic properties= £35

* Charges incorporate VAT
* Note: Occupiers of domestic premises in receipt of certain income related benefits will receive a 50% reduction in treatment costs.

A charge for treatments carried out on industrial and commercial properties £80 per visit. (contracts available, prices subject to survey)
