Grants and Assistance for Householders *

 

Cavity Wall and Loft Insulation

You could save up to £265 a year on your energy bills.

We are working in partnership with local insulation companies to ensure our residents can benefit from competitively priced insulation.  Through this partnership you could insulate your loft from £99 and cavity walls filled for FREE.

If you are aged over 70 or in receipt of certain benefits you may be eligible for FREE* insulation.  *Subject to a technical survey

Funding is available for ALL residents, the amount of funding depends on which fuel you use to heat your home,  which (if any) benefits are claimed or if you are aged 70 or over.  For further information and how much funding you could be eligible to, please contact the Sustainability Team on 01376 552525 extension 2778 or 2255.

 

Warm Front

Warm Front is a government-funded scheme which provides grants to make your home warmer, healthier and more energy efficient.

Grants are available for people who are in receipt of certain benefits and own their home or rent it from a private landlord.

You can call them free on 0800 316 2805.  Lines are open Monday to Friday from 8am to 6pm and Saturday 9am to 5pm.

Home Heat Helpline

If you’re worried about paying your heating bills or need some easy to understand advice on how to save energy then the Home Heat Helpline can help you.

The Helpline have trained advisors who can give practical advice on grants and improve your home's energy efficiency.  In addition, energy suppliers have money put aside to help those in financial difficulties pay their bills.  If you in receipt of certain benefits, are disabled, over 60, have a young family, or are bringing up children on your own, there are special grants and services available.
