How can I get an allotment?

At the moment Braintree District Council does not have any allotment plots available for rent as all of our sites are completely full up with waiting lists being held at each location.

Do we have waiting lists?

Yes we do - at the moment we are holding waiting lists for all of our allotment sites but because of the slow turnover of plots it can take a long time before one becomes available, so progress to the top of the waiting list can be very slow.

What are the prices?

The current full-rate charge for an allotment plot is 13p per square metre - for an average sized plot of 126.5 sq m, this equates to £16.45 per year - or £32.88 for a larger plot of 253 sq m.

We offer a concessionary rate of 8p per square metre for Senior Citizens which equates to £10.12 for an average plot and £20.23 for a larger one.

How do I pay?

You will be invoiced on a yearly basis every August and will be notified of any price increases.
