A key aim of the Council is to create a cleaner and greener district, in order to ensure that the highest quality environment is enjoyed by residents and visitors to the District.
We aim to ensure that we safeguard our environment from the threats of poor air quality, noise, heavy traffic, and inappropriate development.

One of our key ambitions in this area is to encourage sustainable waste management through recycling and waste minimisation. Furthermore, we endeavour to provide attractive and cleaner streets, neighbourhoods and open spaces.
