Witham is a Georgian town situated south of Braintree, midway between Colchester and Chelmsford.

The town has a population of over 22,000.  Local facilities include schools, health centre, many shops, sports centre, nature reserve, a traditional market on Saturdays and a farmers’ market on the second and fourth Tuesday in the month.
