Sible Hedingham

The parish of Sible Hedingham is situated north of Braintree on the west bank of the River Colne.  In area, it is the second largest parish in Essex, covering five thousand acres.  It is mainly an agricultural area but was known for its cloth trade and various other industries in years gone by.

There are a number of greens within the parish boundaries including:-  Almshouse Green, Birds Green, Forrey Green, High Street Green, Morris Green and Southey Green.  Hamlets include:  Cobbs Fenn, Cut Maple, Delvin End, Harrowcross and New England.

According to the 2001 Census, the parish of Sible Hedingham had a population of 3665.
