Little Yeldham


The parish of Little Yeldham is situated in the north of the
Braintree district in a mainly agricultural
area. There is a church - St John the
Baptist with a wooden bell tower, a village hall, playing field and
public house. General Sir Alfred Gaselee, KCB (1844-1918) who led
the British and allied armies into Peking in 1900 to relieve the
foreign legations from the Boxers, was born in Little
Yeldham.
According to the
2001 Census, Little Yeldham had a population
of 326.
