Great Yeldham is a large village to the north of Braintree. It has a Post Office and several other shops and stores. There is a large primary school, two hotels and one public house as well as the Great Yeldham Reading Room which is the village hall. The sports ground with its pavilion, supports cricket and football clubs and there is also a scouts hut on the grounds.
