SilverEnd

The village of Silver End, built in 1926 for the employees of Francis Crittall's factory, was designed to be completely self-sufficient with its own water supply and drainage, shops, schools and churches. A farm was also established which sold produce direct to the village. The factory even generated the village’s electricity. It remains a nationally important village of ‘modern movement’ architecture.
